Certified Specialist of Wine, Wine andSpirit Education Trust Advanced Certification with Merit
Wendy Crispell is a NY wine professional with a background rich in all things culinary. From a winning appearance on the Food Network to her multiple first place awards in international cocktail competitions she has been known for her innovative, artistic approach and continuing thirst for knowledge. From the day she received her first cookbook at the age of five Wendy has been hooked on learning more about the culinary arts and sharing her knowledge with others.
After 10 years behind the stove at her own bistro Wendy's interest in artisanal cheese led her to complete both the Master and Professional Certificates from The Artisanal Cheese Center in New York. As a result of these classes her love of wine pairings took hold and caused her to seek out more knowledge. Starting by working with Kevin Zraly at his Windows on the World Wine School she went on to complete both the Intermediate and Advanced Certificates from London's prestigious Wine and Spirits Educational Trust, achieve her Certified Specialist of Wine status and to study abroad at both the German Wine Academy and Ecole Du Vin in Bordeaux France.
To further expand her knowledge she traveled the wine regions of Europe for one year. Stops where also made in various cheese caves in France and England! Upon her return to the states she got her hands dirty in the wine cellars of the Hudson Valley to learn more about the New York wine industry.
Wendy has led workshops at The Hudson Valley Food and Wine Festival, Bounty of the Hudson, The Cornell Club and City Winery. Her unique corporate presentations have been featured at events with American Express, Lufthansa, JP Morgan and various other companies in the fields of film, finance and numerous corporate as well as private events Tri State area.
